  • Daily Prompts: My thoughts

What’s a country that’s at the top of your bucket list?

    Italy.

    Deffo Italy.

There’s something about Italy that draws me in: the language, the culture. The history. The food 🍕🍦🍧🍨🍝. It’s deffo a draw

I would love to go interailing one day.

    Cool libraries. Staying in monsatraties.

That’s my answer to the prompt. The end 🔚🙇‍♀️🦢

  • How to Get Fit While Watching TV

What are five simple exercises to do at home? When I was younger, I knew a guy who seemed able to do push-ups forever. I watched him one day. He just kept going and going, with no obvious sign of getting tired. “How do you do that?” I asked. His answer was surprisingly simple. One […]

How to Get Fit While Watching TV

    Getting fit.

    Fitness and emotional fitness.

Whether or not you want to believe it there’s a link 🔗.

Breaking up with my ex left me very vulnerable emotionally.

I bought myself a ring. Something to mark this new chapter of my life cuz it didn’t have to be anything bad, and besides…

You don’t need a boyfriend to buy yourself a ring. C’mon that’s just ridiculous. Who said you needed to? 😕. Consider this me confused.

A month or so later my flatmate bought some weights, just some 1.5kg weights. I had always wanted to buy some for myself. It seemed like everything aligned and so I bought some for myself.

Now, how to get fit while watching TV?

Ngl I might watch some farmon212th on YouTube and lift some weights for the duration of the 16 mins videos. Thinking 🤔 about it, it actually sounds like a plan. I’m convinced. Thank you. Power of writing haha 😂

  • Is Sewing Clothes Cheaper than Buying? Part 2: How to Save

In the first part of this post, I showed some real life examples of how much sewing clothing can cost. In my opinion, if saving money on your wardrobe is the goal, there are much more effective options out there (i.e.thrifting, shopping sales/clearance, accepting hand-me-downs, etc). However, there are some instances where I think it’s […]

Is Sewing Clothes Cheaper than Buying? Part 2: How to Save

    A goal of mine: Haberdashery

Honestly why isn’t it a skill we are taught more off?

Yay! for feminism but c’mon why can’t we have clubs at school where we can learn essential skills like this?

We have lessons where we learn how to sew, so why can’t those teachers teach us how to haberdash?

I’m such a huge fan 🪭 of sustainability and how to be more eco friendly cuz who wants to live in a world 🌎 of ever increasing temperatures? It’s ridiculous.

I started with the Search 🔍 engine Ecosia because I wanted to do something active: I wanted to put money where my mouth is. Then I changed to something for the Oceans. I can’t remember what it was called.

Anyway in a world with global heating and inflation it’s more important than ever to learn essential skills like sewing 🧵🪡

    What do you think 💬🤔

  • A Floral Summer Tablescape

I’m back in my crafty era!! I used to be really into arts and crafts when I was younger—drawing, scrapbooking, jewelry-making, etc.—but as I got older I just didn’t have the time or space for it anymore. I’m so excited to have been getting back into it the past couple of years. It started when […]

    A Floral Summer Tablescape

    In my healing era.

I’ve been googling some journaling prompts and came across this one: hobbies and activities you enjoyed when you were a child.

For me it was writing and arts and crafts.

I recently joined a Where Friends Grow 🪴 community near me. Namely the sketch activity. It was fun 😊

Ngl I hadn’t sketched properly since highschool so I was kinda nervous. Thank God for Google and an internet connection am I right 😅

    So…

Are you in your healing era too or are you just interested in arts and crafts 🎭🧶🧵?

Check out the blog I reposted for ideas 💡

And check out arts and crafts societies near you 😁

  • When things don’t go to plan…

I’ve been a busy bee in my sewing room over the last couple of weeks, trying to clear the decks a bit! One project I have managed to complete is my alphabet of birds fabric book. I’ve been stitching the letters over the last ten months, I had a nice stack of embroideries, all I […]

When things don’t go to plan…

This made me think about last year when I created my Substack: a failed project ngl.

It made me think about when I was applying for a Summer job and it fell through. I’m experiencing something similar at the moment. I applied for a job, was told I could start the following Thursday but was recently told: “Role is on hold due to the person who was leaving change his mind for the time being
Sooner the anything change will get in touch
    Apology for the inconvenience.”

Ugh, the frustration’s real. I need a job. I can’t live on savings alone. I mean my ex used to tell me this when we were together, and he was right. I guess this is when I have to start thinking about plan D.

And I suppose this is a moment where your resilience is tested. And boy is mine being tested.

But when things don’t go to plan…

You’re not alone. We may be going through different things; riding different waves of different sizes but no one’s an island 🏝️. It’s okay to ask for help 🫶

  • A Little Older-Sister Advice

Some things are easier to figure out when someone shares what they’ve learned along the way. I’m starting this blog to write about my experiences—the bright moments, the hard lessons, and the small things I wish I’d known sooner.

Think of this as a note from an older sister: honest, kind, and never pretending to have everything figured out. I hope you’ll find something here that makes you feel understood, encouraged, or a little less alone.
